M Update, 16/1/2019 – A bus taking foreign tourists to their Pattaya hotel struck and killed a Chinese tourist who was crossing the road on Tuesday night.
Police said the victim, whose identity has not yet been determined, was struck at 9pm while crossing Soi Wat Boon Kanchanaram off Jomtien 2 Road in Chon Buri’s Bang Lamung district. Bus driver Thanapol Liwiset, 62, waited for police at the scene and explained he was about to drop off his passengers at a hotel on the same soi when the man suddenly appeared in front of him at a curve. He jammed on the brakes, evoking screams of alarm from passengers, but could not stop in time.
The body was sent to Bang Lamung Hospital pending contact with relatives.
