M Update, 12/2/2019 – Two Bangladeshi men suspected of being in a kidnapping syndicate, with their latest victim one of their countrymen, have been shot dead following a confrontation with police.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Yussof said police from Kuala Lumpur were involved in tracking down the suspects to Taman Mudun, Batu 9, Cheras in the wee hours of Tuesday (Feb 12) morning.
“Police raided a house there at around 1.35am where the suspects were believed to have hidden their victim. During the raid the suspects opened fire at police and we were forced to return fire in self defence,” he said at the scene later Tuesday. Both suspects died at the scene.
“We managed to save the victim, in his 30s, who was reported as having been kidnapped from Sentul on Feb 8. We seized a 9mm pistol as well as a parang (machete) at the scene,” he said, adding that the identities of the two suspects was being probed as no identification documents were found on them. The case was being investigated as attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.
